When to Use a Laptop TV Tuner

!±8± When to Use a Laptop TV Tuner

A laptop TV tuner is basically a device or software that enables you to watch live television on your notebook. It enables you to watch, record, rewind, and store your favorite television programs within the storage space of your personal laptop.

There are three broad options when using a laptop TV tuner. The first of these is the internal TV tuner card that receives television signals, usually through an antenna or internet connection, and is installed in your notebook. The other two are hardware solutions, one of which connects through your USB port and the other connects via a CardBus slot in your laptop.

The internal tuner card works through software called satellite TV software that gives you the mobility to access virtually any television channel from anywhere in the world that has WiFi facilities. The external hardware solutions offer less in terms of portability and their access to the number of channels is limited, however it is the more cost effective solution for anyone who is not a diehard entertainment enthusiast.

There are a range of ways, however, in which you can combine these three options to get the best possible viewing experience and be sure to never miss out on a single television show. With one TV tuner, you are limited to watching or recording only one show on one channel at a time. But, with two tuners, you can watch and/or record two different TV shows on two different channels at the same time. Additionally, you could also watch a show you recorded earlier while recording two more shows on two different channels simultaneously! Multiple TV tuners can thus free you from scheduling your day around your favorite soap or news show, as now you can record and play it at your own leisure!

Satellite television also gives you the advantage of having access to TV programs in different languages - whether you want to keep in touch with your country of origin, or if you want to learn more about the culture and language of a different country, satellite TV will prove to be a useful and cheap way to do it. In the same vein, you can access programs which are not broadcast locally. So if your family is posted on the outskirts of the world, they can still remain connected with their hometown by checking in their local news channel.

The benefits of TV tuners for the entertainment connoisseur are, of course, boundless.

And these are just a few ways you can use your laptop TV tuner for your benefit. Not only does it free your time and save you money, it also helps you fuel your passions and stay in touch with home.

Benefits of Using Cell Phone Boosters

!±8± Benefits of Using Cell Phone Boosters

Cell phone boosters are devices with low gain and high output power. It has a direct connection to the inside and outside antennas. They are mostly used in areas with weak RF (Radio Frequency) signal. They work well in open environments, such as in remote areas. Its installation is quite simple as it just needs plug and use. You don't need any pre installation analysis such as measuring attenuations and signal amplifications.

Boosters more preferable then repeaters:

Boosters, unlike repeaters, need low output power as the booster has a direct link to the cell boosters. So, signal from booster to phone or vice versa is directly sent without any degradation. The amplification of the booster's signal is less than the repeater's signal.

Booster transmission power is irrespective of attenuation between internal and external antennas of the device. It is insusceptible to oscillation so, it cannot generate RF noise.

Booster provides reliable transmission/reception signal as it amplifies the RF signal as and when required.

Boosters are used with cell phones or any communication device for clear signal reception. The radiations emitted from our cell phones can affect our health and increase our chances of brain cancer. Therefore, usage of cell phones increases the risk posed to our health.

Weak signals result in more radiation coming out from cell phone device thus increasing our exposure to radiations. Boosters convert weak signals into strong signals thereby making clear and good reception of voice signal.

Boosters consist of amplifier for amplifying the signal and signal antenna for receiving or transmitting the appropriate signal. When you are in a vehicle or passing by a busy highway, RF signal is not constant. To make constant and clear communication, boosters are used.

There are two types of boosters, indoor boosters and outdoor boosters. The indoor version of booster can have 500mW power and outdoor booster can have maximum up to 1000mW power.

Usage:

Cell phone boosters can be used if you have poor coverage at your home or office, if you notice more dropped calls, if you can receive calls but cannot make any call or if you feel you have a slow data download.

How to Find Your Cell Phone Antenna Port

!±8± How to Find Your Cell Phone Antenna Port

There are Wilson cell phone and air card antenna adapters for over 500 mobile models. They are approximately 18" long. One end, FME Male, connects to the antenna cable. The other end connects to your cell phone.

Unless it is a very old mobile-phone, it does not connect to the charge port on the bottom of the phone.

Back Plug
Plugs into the adapter port on the upper back portion of your phone. A rubber or plastic plug may need to be removed. Press firmly to ensure a good connection - do not twist. Using too much force could damage your phone

Back Plug With Top Replacement Antenna
(Figures 1 & 2) Unscrew your original antenna which is blocking the adapter port - may have reversed threads. (Figure-3) Screw your included replacement antenna into the top of the phone. Your antenna adapter will now fit into the back of the phone - see above for Back Plug instructions

Bottom Plug
Plugs into the bottom of your cellphone. Push until you hear a click. Press button(s) in middle or on sides to release connecter from phone. Note: an RF charger may be available for your phone - it will allow you to charge your phone while using your external antenna.

Ring
Slide onto the base of your cellular phone's built in antenna. Press down firmly to ensure a good connection. Be sure to lower your phone's built in antenna.

RF Charger
RF Chargers are antenna adapters that have a built in battery charger. A single plug into the bottom of your phone will allow you to charge your phone while using your external antenna. Without the RF Charger you would have to unplug your charger to use your antenna.

Sleeve
Snap onto the back of your cellular phone. The sleeve must be mounted to the top of your phone. The sleeve may fit upside down but it will not function properly.

Top Plug
Plugs into the adapter port on the top of your phone. A rubber plug may need to be removed. Press firmly to ensure a good connection - do not twist. Using too much force could damage your phone. A small number of top plug phones require the removal of the original antenna to expose the port.

Top Screw
This antenna adapter replaces your cellular phone's original antenna. Unscrew your original antenna and screw in the antenna adapter. Be sure to save your original antenna - you will need to use it after disconnecting your antenna adapter.

Side Plug
Plugs into the adapter port on the upper-side of your phone. A rubber plug may need to be removed. Press firmly to ensure a good connection - do not twist. Using too much force could damage your phone.
